Lynne Schulte LaValley has over thirty years in working as an art teacher in a wide range of media. She is known particularly for her ability to connect with and assist teens in their college portfolio preparation, and in her ability to explain the basics to a beginner. Her message is "Of course you can do it - let me help you get started." She is encouraging yet has an expectation of excellence that students are able to reach, tailoring the instruction to the individual need.

Private Lessons are $40 per hour. 


Lynne is now interviewing and accepting private students. If you would like one-on-one care to help you advance in your art, consider beginning a series of private lessons. These will be tailored to the individual need and interest. Times are flexible. Lessons may take place either in the Main Street Teaching Studio, the Boat Ramp painting studio, or on site in locations that are collaboratively chosen. Consider:

  * A few private lessons to help you feel "warmed up" to a new media
* Focused work in a media to help you move beyond an area in which you are "stuck"
* Painting on site in Rockport or other coastal areas for the first time with your personal coach
* Getting help if you are struggling with a media, technique, or subject area
* Extending a classroom experience to understand it better
